Mary Queens Blood Centre stands as an authorized unit licensed by The Drugs Controller General, Government of India, offering high quality services to in-house as well as out of the hospital patients who are in urgent need of blood. We are one and only licenced Blood Centre in Kanjirappally Town. Blood Centre services operates 24/7. The Blood Centre follows stringent Quality Control procedures and also participates in Hemovigilance programs to monitor and improve transfusion safety practices. We are following the standards set by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO). e-Raktkosh, a centralized platform for blood centre management, may also be used by our Blood Centre. We will start blood Centre components within 4 months.
The tests done in our Blood Centre are
- Blood grouping including A1,A2 Bombay group and Du detection
- Donor Haemoglobin test
- Crossmatching – Saline, albumin and Coomb՚s method using Gel card system
- Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT/DCT)
- Indirect Antiglobulin Test (IAT/ICT)
- Blood collection, Donor screening and Transfusion
- Elisa for HIV 1&2,Hepatitis B Virus, Hepatitis C Virus, Syphilis
- Malarial parasite Antigen detection kit
- Whole blood units are issued on request from other hospitals, as per availability.
